Team Spotlight: Jeanette - Community Outreach Nurse
Each month we’re featuring a member of the Hepatitis Queensland team so you can get to know us. This month we’d like to introduce Jeanette, our Community Outreach Nurse.
How long have you been with Hepatitis Queensland?
Nearly 2 years.
What’s a typical day like?
Varied! I could be attending a liver health clinic with Fibroscanning in a GP surgery, on the road going to GP surgeries to promoting our liver health projects, giving an education session about the treatment of hepatitis C within medical practices, or, in the office.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
The whole process of learning and doing something very different. The team I work with are incredible.
What has been your favourite project so far?
Being part of the team attending the Test Cure Live project for public awareness of hepatitis C in the Wide Bay area.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
Visiting friends
What three words best describe you?
I’d like to think I’m caring, dedicated and persistent.
Who inspires you?
Nurses. They make a difference.
If you were stuck on an island, what three things would you bring?
A book, hat and fishing line.
