About Hepatitis Queensland

Hepatitis Queensland is the peak community association for hepatitis in Queensland. As a non-government body, we provide a range of initiatives and programs to prevent viral hepatitis and improve the lives of those affected by the disease. We acknowledge the diversity of the people and communities whose lives may be impacted, and we represent their interests in all our endeavours.

Ordinary Board Member Position

We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors as Ordinary Board Members on a pro-bono basis. This role is perfect for those who are committed to improving health outcomes for all Queenslanders and eager to contribute their expertise to our mission.

Key Responsibilities

As an Ordinary Board Member, you will:

  • Actively participate in all quarterly virtual Board meetings.
  • Attend face-to-face strategic planning sessions in Brisbane as required.
  • Comply with the association’s constitution and relevant legislation.
  • Act in the best interests of the association.

Additionally, you may be called upon to:

  • Fill executive committee casual vacancies that may arise.
  • Perform specific tasks for the association.
  • Sit on Board sub-committees.

What We’re Looking For

We are particularly interested in individuals with the following skills or background:

  • Medical specialist in hepatology
  • Law
  • Communications or marketing
  • Government Relations
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • People who can represent culturally diverse communities
