Living well with hepatitis B – Part 1

The Living Well with Hepatitis B series is a set of simple English resources designed to improve hepatitis B health literacy within culturally and linguistically diverse populations.

Developed by Hepatitis Queensland, the series includes a reader, workbook and animated videos using simple English, along with plenty of visual illustrations.

There are four stories in the reader, and each story touches upon topics commonly associated with hepatitis B including transmission, prevention, pregnancy, new intimate relationships and liver cancer.

It’s a great resource for clients who may have recently been diagnosed with hepatitis B or as a tool to improve health literacy. These resources are also suited to students in the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP).

Cooking at the school

Cooking at the School is the first story from the Living Well with Hepatitis B Reader.

Chen learns she has hepatitis B but does not know how it is passed onto others.

She speaks to a friend who also has hepatitis B to learn more about the virus.
