Hepatitis Queensland is the peak Queensland not-for-profit organisation providing a range of initiatives to prevent viral hepatitis (hepatitis B and hepatitis C) and improve the lives of those affected by the disease. We acknowledge the diversity of the people and communities whose lives may be affected, and we represent their interests in the work we do.

To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about improving health outcomes for all Queenslanders and motivated to lead the Board of Directors on a pro-bono basis. You will be a strategic thinker, energetic, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to positively influence discussions at a Board level.

What We’re Looking For

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Governance, board, or committee experience (or a willingness to learn)
  • A commitment to the role’s responsibilities, including:
    • Active participation in quarterly Board meetings (in person or via Teams)
    • Attendance at strategic planning sessions in Brisbane
    • Compliance with our constitution and relevant legislation
    • Acting in the best interests of the organisation.


In addition to these responsibilities, the Board Chair will:

  • Perform specific tasks for the association
  • Serve on Board Committees as needed.


This position is Brisbane-based.
