Since joining Hepatitis Queensland in August 2024 as Office and Administration Manager, Jo has brought strong organisational skills and a genuine passion for supporting the team’s mission. Inspired by the dedication of her colleagues, she’s committed to helping Hepatitis Queensland make a meaningful difference in the community.

What excites you about your role?

I’m so excited to be working with such a caring, passionate and dedicated team, who don’t see this as just a job but an integral way to help and improve people’s lives.

What’s something you’ve learned in the past month?

I am constantly learning new things every day. When I started at Hepatitis Queensland, I didn’t know a lot about hepatitis and the impact it has on individuals, but the testing procedure is so quick and easy!

How do you define success?

Simply, just being proud and happy with your achievements. If you have the desire, you will accomplish your set goals.

What work did you do before joining Hepatitis Queensland?

I worked in the legal sector for many, many years.

What’s the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I worked in the Supreme Court Sheriff’s Office managing exhibits for drug, murder and civil trials.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

Cooking, camping, travelling and live music.

Who inspires you?

Family, friends and even random strangers who cross my path. Everyone has an amazing story to tell, and you can draw such inspiration from them.

What’s a fun fact about you people may not know?

I love cage diving with Great White Sharks.

What three words best describe you?

Generous, caring and easy-going.
