What excites you about your role?

Working in a job where no two days look the same. I love being able to switch between working in the office, being out in the community, running clinics at Community Corrections, or working inside prisons. It’s exciting and keeps things interesting!

What’s something you’ve learned in the past month?

I recently went to a game of the Ashes, so I learnt the rules of Cricket!

How do you define success?

To me, success is being able to achieve my personal and professional goals while still maintaining balance in my life. Having balance between my work and personal life is incredibly important to me, so if I can find that perfect in between I’m winning!

What work did you do before joining Hepatitis Queensland?

Before working for Hepatitis Queensland, I worked for two years as a Community Development Officer at the Alcohol and Drug Foundation. I worked primarily on their Local Drug Action Team (LDAT) program which focused on using grassroots approaches to reduce alcohol and other drug harm in the community.

What’s the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

One year, I worked at Splendour in the Grass in one of the huge bars. I’m not made for staying up till 3am, so I decided that was the end of my bartending days.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

When I’m not working, you’ll find me out walking with my dogs, running or puzzling at home!

Who inspires you?

My colleagues inspire me. They are all wonderful people and inspire me to perform my best at work.

What’s a fun fact about you that people may not know?

I can move my ears!

What three words best describe you?

Determined, sassy and passionate
