Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continue to be disproportionately impacted by liver conditions such as hepatitis B.

Without proper treatment and care, hepatitis B can cause a range of serious long-term health problems such as liver damage, cirrhosis, and cancer. In fact, the rate of liver cancer for Indigenous Australians is up to 10 times higher compared with non-indigenous Australians.

This animation shows the importance of a united approach to hepatitis B involving individuals, communities, and health services working together.

The artwork featured in this animation was designed by acclaimed Indigenous artist Joe Malone.
