The perfect public health role for a new graduate! Hepatitis Queensland is looking for a Project Support Officer to join our high-calibre team and contribute to the effective delivery of projects across Queensland.

  • Tertiary qualifications in public health, human services or community development, or relevant industry experience.
  • Prior experience or special interest in health service delivery and working with marginalised people who face stigma and discrimination highly regarded.
  • Must be interested in hands-on, community-facing work.
  • Keen interest in the BBV/STI health sector.
  • Benefits:
    • Level 3.1 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
    • Attractive salary packaging options – up to $15,900 tax free per year.
    • Brisbane-based office with work-from-home flexibility.
    • Four days per week (0.8 FTE) – 6-month contract with possibility to extend.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work within a purposed and inclusive organisation that delivers meaningful outcomes to the blood-borne virus/STI sector. As an entry-level position, this role is well suited to a recent graduate looking to gain experience in health promotion, clinical health service delivery and community engagement. The Project Support Officer will collaborate closely with the Programs Manager, Senior Project Officer and other team members to deliver projects and events with a strong focus on person-centred care.

What You Will Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in public health, human services or community development, or relevant industry experience.
  • Computer literacy including experience with MS Office, Outlook, and online research skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to create order in a complex
    environment.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • A productive and proactive team player willing to positively contribute to the team.
  • Outstanding time management, multi-tasking abilities and an eye for detail.
  • Motivation and enthusiasm with a strong sense of personal accountability and resilience.
  • A solution-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to travel, if required.
  • Out-of-hours work may be required on occasion.
  • A valid Queensland Drivers’ Licence, ability to obtain a Criminal History Check (QLD only), and Working with Children Check – Blue Card.
