Did you hear the good news? It’s now even easier to prescribe treatment for hepatitis C.

Changes to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) from 1st April mean:

  • virus genotype is no longer required before prescribing treatment, and
  • the 18+ age restriction has also been removed.

Pangenotypic treatments, available under the PBS, are suitable for all hepatitis C genotypes. GPs can find more information about treating hepatitis C on our GP Resources page.
